Problem:

Decaying, broken and unsightly amalgam fillings.

Treatment:

Restoration and reconstruction using direct composite restoration (white filling). One of the advantage of composite is that it can be bonded to teeth, creating a tight seal and helping to retain the restoration in the tooth. Large composite restorations will typically last 7-10 years, after which they may need to be repaired or sometimes replaced with crowns.

29 year old female

Problem:

Decaying, broken and unsightly amalgam filling.

Treatment:

Restoration and reconstruction using porcelain inlay. Porcelain is often chosen for large cavities as it is stronger and longer lasting than composite (white filling material). During the making of the inlay, our technician tries to mimic the natural appearance and shading of a natural tooth.
